He( Christian Bale) took several pains and strains to achieve this horrifying lean skin and bony look for this movie, Machinist , yet he did not win any awards for this movie. He had more complications in doing the role as his health was permanently suffered for a long time while in the 2nd unit shooting periods. He undergone strict diet and kept continuous fasting to get this lean look.
